President Biden is just about to close in on two years in office. However, the ongoing migration crisis has many Republicans looking at the White House for ways to deal with the surge in illegal immigrants. Many Republicans are also asking Biden to visit the southern border.

Republicans and Border Patrol agents criticized the White House statements on how someone who is unvaccinated and enters the border through Texas or Arizona would be allowed to stay.

During a press briefing, White House press secretary Karine Jean- Pierre reaffirmed that that is happening. However, she later clarified that it is not as simple as someone walking across the border.

Biden has made many trips during his presidency, however, none of those have been to the southern border. At the same time in the last fiscal year there were 1.7 million migrant encounters. This fiscal year there have already been two million encounters to date.

A House Republican took to Twitter to slam the administration for not facing the realities of the border crisis. They also shamed President Biden for not visiting the southern border.

Rep. August Pfluger, R-Texas, who sits on the House Homeland Security Committee, also took to Twitter to say that the Administration doesn’t understand the border crises because they have not visited the borders to see how things work.

Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel also commented on this saying that while Biden has not visited the border, he has spent 234 days on vacation since he took office.

The border crisis has been escalating since Biden took office and many are saying that is in part the result of many Trump-era policies no longer being in place.
The Biden administration has retained that it is not its policies that have caused the southern border crisis.
