(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Senator Ted Cruz of Texas addressed the challenges at the U.S.-Mexico border during his speech at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, expressing strong criticisms of the current administration’s policies under President Joe Biden. He emphasized the significance of the upcoming presidential election, stating, “Never before has an election mattered so much. We are facing a literal invasion at our southern border. To put it in perspective, 11.5 million people have crossed our border illegally under Joe Biden’s administration. That’s equivalent to the population of all but eight states in the nation.”
Cruz provided a stark visualization of the situation: “Imagine this arena, which holds about 18,000 people, now picture 639 arenas just like this, each filled to capacity. That’s the scale we are talking about.”
He continued, “The consequences are dire. Americans are suffering due to crimes like murder, assault, and rape committed by some illegal immigrants. Furthermore, there are horrific instances of human trafficking, including teenagers being forced into sex slavery, marked by colored wristbands.”
Cruz then criticized the safety implications of these policies, saying, “Under Biden, your family, your children, the country are all less safe. But there is hope. We can rectify this situation. When Donald Trump is elected president, we will address these issues effectively. We’ve seen results before; under President Trump’s leadership, we achieved the lowest rate of illegal immigration in 45 years. I’ve worked alongside him to secure our border before, and I am confident we can do it again,” he concluded, met by applause from the audience.
