President Biden said that the impeachment threats that many House Republicans have been making as they expect to gain control of the chamber are “almost comedy.” He also claimed that the American public was not interested in seeing any investigation into his family.
Biden during a post-midterm elections press conference at the White House on Wednesday noted that there have been many reports of Republicans saying that they would impeach him. But, he also said that the American public is looking at the facts as they stand and these threats are “almost comedy”.
On Wednesday evening both the race for control of the House and Senate were too close to call. However, Republicans have clearly stated that if they manage to flip the House they would launch investigations into the business dealings of Hunter Biden, President Biden’s son. They have also said that they would look into whether the President could be impeached because of his role in business dealings that his son made. There have also been reports that impeachment would also be something the Republicans sought after it was reported that President Biden asked Saudi Arabia to delay their reduction in oil production.
Biden regarding all of this has said that he is not in a position to control what the Republican party does and that all he can focus on is making life better for Americans.
