(TruthAndLiberty.com) – On Monday the families of the U.S. Marines that had lost their lives during the Afghanistan withdrawal appeared before Congress while also blasting the Biden administration for the lack of information relating to the deaths.
Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Taylor Hoover’s parents Darin Hoover and Kelly Barnett were among the first ones to speak about the death of their son in the suicide bomb attack at Kabul airport in 2021. It has been almost two years since the attack, and as the pair expressed, they were hoping to gain access to more information regarding their son’s death. They further stated that the Biden administration had lied and avoided taking accountability for the administration’s mistakes that had led to the death of the 13 service members, including their son.
The Congressional forum was held by Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., and the Gold Star families were given the space to speak up about the death of their family members. Many of them blasted President Biden and the administration over their handling of the withdrawal, while others stated that they had not received any information regarding the investigations on what occurred on that day.
Barnett argued that they had been lied to and given incorrect information about the deaths, which was completely disrespectful. She then called not only Biden but also Mark Milley, the Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair, Antony Blinken, the Secretary of State and Lloyd Austin, the Defense Secretary “evil” and characterized them as “incompetent cowards.”
Hoover also argued that for them to express satisfaction with the withdrawal of the troops was “ignorant” and “disgusting.”
