During a campaign event on Friday, President Biden only briefly talked about Pennsylvania Senate candidate John Fetterman. According to a Republican strategist, Democrats don’t want Biden to actively be on the campaign trail and would instead prefer that he is away from the spotlight ahead of the midterm elections.
The midterm elections are set for Nov. 8. Ahead of election day Biden is expected to be in his Delaware home where he can cast an early vote on Saturday.
In the meantime, first lady Jill Biden, former President Barack Obama, Vice President Kamala Harris, and other administration officials are all hosting multiple campaign events across the country trying to generate excitement for the upcoming elections.
Matt Gorman, vice president of Targeted Victory said that Delaware and at home is exactly where Democrats want Biden to be. They also added that they don’t want him to be near any of the competitive races.
Gorman, however, said that Biden, on the one hand, should be campaigning for Democrats, but on the other hand, if he was a Democrat, he would not have wanted to see Biden attend any events.
Biden when asked about the midterm elections said that he had a good feeling. He also added that he had been to 36 constituencies and that he was “feeling good” about the campaigns.
Biden is still set to visit Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Mexico, and California within the week as part of the campaign.
