(TruthAndLiberty.com) – Recent Politico reports have revealed that the Biden administration has been secretly providing long-range missiles to Ukraine.
On Tuesday, Ukraine’s military struck down nine Russian helicopters using the Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS). The administration’s decision to provide long-range missiles to Ukraine shows an attempt from the administration to boost Ukraine’s defenses against the Russian invasion while also giving them the option of attacking while being far from the front lines.
The report further noted that the Biden administration has become more concerned about a possible Russian build-up of equipment and troops in preparation for a possible fall offensive.
A CNN report noted that the Pentagon was diverting all questions regarding ATACMS to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This information came out at a time when the United States announced that it would fully support Israel in its war against the Palestinian militant group Hamas, which is in control of Gaza.
On Tuesday Ukraine announced that they had brought down nine Russian helicopters and had destroyed other Russian military equipment in an attack on Luhansk and Berdyansk, which are currently under Russian occupation.
Last month it was reported by NBC that President Joe Biden had told Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian President, that they would supply the country with a limited number of long-range missiles. Previously the Biden administration had hesitated to send such missiles to Ukraine out of fear that the weapons could be used to escalate the war through attacking deeply into Russian territory.
Jon Fisher, the Deputy National Security Adviser noted that the administration’s intention has always been to supply Ukraine with all the capabilities that will allow them to win on the battlefield.
