(TruthandLiberty.com) – It seems that the Biden administration continues to find ways to make the bad situation in Afghanistan worse. Can you imagine fleeing for your life with little or no money, and the government makes you promise to pay up to help you for the problem it caused? That’s precisely what happened on Thursday, August 19. As US citizens boarded aircraft to escape Kabul, the Biden administration forced individuals to sign promissory notes guaranteeing they would pay Uncle Sam $2,000 for helping them.

According to the paperwork, the repatriation flight was expensive in more than one way. If people don’t pay their $2,000 bill, the government said the flyers wouldn’t be allowed to renew their US passports until citizens repay the expensive loan. However, once the news broke about the administration’s overhanded tactic, the government quickly back-peddled. The State Department announced it would reverse the reimbursement requirement.
Despite the State Department’s comment, the form allowing a person on the flight still requires a promise to pay. So, will Americans be held to the promissory note when they arrive back in the US? Hopefully, government bureaucrats get the message from the leaders at the State Department.
