Amber Heard Takes Savage Jab At Johnny Depp

Depp is suing his ex-wife for alleging he abused her in a 2018 Washington Post op-ed, although she never used his name. Depp said her public statement condemned him without any proof and hurt his ability to work.
On Monday, May 16, Heard’s lawyers issued a blistering statement to People Magazine ahead of Heard’s third day of testimony before the court. Her attorneys alleged in the court of public opinion that Depp didn’t have any facts on his side. Therefore, his attorneys would simply pound away on Heard, twisting the facts. The statement added that the evidence and truth were not on her ex-husband’s side and noted that the case comes down to one question: Does a woman have a First Amendment right to free speech?

A spokesman for Depp responded, saying his attorneys would expose Heard’s fallacies on cross-examination. The spokesman added that Heard’s stories have evolved and changed, while Depp’s remained the exact same over the last six years.
Heard is counter-suing Depp for $100 million. She alleges Depp and his former attorney attempted to destroy and defame her.
This bitter case is spilling outside of the courtroom and could net new revelations, so the outcome is still uncertain. More updates are likely to emerge.
