(TruthAndLiberty.com) – On Sunday, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) claimed that he was “of course” concerned about the personal threats issued by former President Trump against him, especially following Monday’s Supreme Court ruling which granted criminal immunity to the core presidential powers.

In an interview on NBC News’s “Meet the Press,” host Kristen Welker asked him about Trump’s threats and accusations as Trump has pushed for the members of the House Special Committee that investigated the Jan. 6 Capitol attack to be indicted for fraud and treason.

Schiff argued that he was concerned about these threats and argued that anyone who has found themselves on Trump’s enemies list needed to be concerned. He added that he is particularly worried about the personal threats against him following the Supreme Court’s ruling that the presidents have absolute immunity for any actions that they take that relate to their core presidential responsibilities. They are also granted presumptive immunity for other official acts.

Schiff claimed that he is worried about what the implications of the ruling are going to be on a possible second Trump term. As he argued, what he found most concerning is that essentially the court has given Trump the okay to do anything through the military or the Justice Department, as these are the U.S. president’s core responsibilities. He added that even outside these cases the president will be given a “strong presumption of immunity.”

More recently Trump reiterated his push for the members of the select committee to be indicted after the members had investigated the Jan. 6 attack and had recommended to the Justice Department that charges be filed against the former President.
